Denver basketball player Nikola Jokić is a finalist in the NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) and the best player in uncertain endings this season.
The NBA announced the finalists for this season's awards tonight, and in addition to the Serbian center, the competition for the most prestigious MVP award includes Oklahoma player Shai Gilges-Alexander and Milwaukee center Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Jokić was last year's MVP and is trying to win the award for the fourth time in the last five years. This season, he is one of the best players in the league, averaging a triple-double per game.
He was also nominated for the award in the competition for the best player in uncertain endings - clutch.
Besides him, the competition for the award includes Jaylen Branson from New York and Anthony Edwards from Minnesota.
Edwards scored 157 points in tight ends this season, Branson 150, and Jokić 140 points.
The candidates for the best rookie are: Stephon Castle from San Antonio, Zachary Rizasher from Atlanta and Jalen Wells from Memphis.
The NBA has nominated Atlanta's Dyson Daniels, Golden State's Draymond Green and Cleveland's Evan Mobley for the Best Defensive Player award.
The race for the Most Improved Player award is between Detroit's Cade Cunningham, Atlanta's Dyson Daniels and Los Angeles Lakers' Ivica Zubac.
The finalists for the best sixth player are Detroit's Malik Beasley, Cleveland's Ty Jerome and Boston's Peyton Pritchard.
Nominees for best coach are Kenny Atkinson from Cleveland, J.D. Bickerstaff from Detroit and Ime Udoka from Houston.
