Buducnost Bemaks basketball players defended the title of champion of Montenegro.
Buducnost defeated Trebjesa 92:64 in the second match of the finals today in Niksic, winning the series 2:0 to win their 13th consecutive championship trophy. The Wolves won the first duel at Bemax Arena 93:63.
This is the third trophy this season for the Podgorica team, after being the best in the Montenegrin Cup and the regional WABA League.
Buducnost led 17:0 after just four minutes, after the first six shots, five of which were three-pointers.
"An expected victory and another trophy, which has been an obligation for our club for years. I am glad that the two teams, which practically make up one club with Podgorica, showed a good game, that there were a lot of younger players, most of whom are in the younger national teams, and it is these girls who are the future of our basketball," said Budućnost Bemaks coach Petar Stojanović.
Maja Bigović was the most efficient with 18, Nikolina Ilić added 14, while Jelena Bulajić finished the match with 11 points. Zorana Radonjić also scored in double figures with ten points.
In the Trebjesa team, which was also a finalist in the Montenegrin Cup this year, the best player was Teodora Sarić with 16, while Anđela Rondović added 11 points.
"The matches against Buducnost are a great opportunity for our players to progress and gain experience. We know that Buducnost is far ahead of us, but it's a good chance to try to match it as much as we can and see where we are at the moment. We have a lot of young players, and most of them have shown that they can be seriously counted on," said Trebjesa coach Lidija Krstajić.
The Nikšić team played in the playoff finals for the first time.
