The jersey that former American basketball player Kobe Bryant wore in his debut for the Los Angeles Lakers in 1996 was sold at auction for seven million dollars, according to American media.
Bryant spent his entire career with the Lakers, with whom he won five championship titles.
The jersey was first sold for $115.242, seven years before Bryant and his daughter Gianna died in a helicopter crash.
Bryant made his NBA debut against Minnesota on November 3, 1996, and the aforementioned jersey is the fourth most expensive sports jersey of all time worn in games.
The most expensive jersey is still that of baseball player Babe Ruth, which was sold for $24 million, and the most expensive basketball jersey is the one worn by Michael Jordan (10,1 million).
In third place is the jersey worn by Argentine footballer Diego Maradona in Argentina's victory over England in the quarter-finals of the 1986 World Cup - it was sold for $8,8 million.
