SC Derby basketball players will play three more games in the AdmiralBet ABA League until the end of the season, the first of which is tomorrow (20) in Belgrade against Mega.
"Students" previously secured survival, they cannot make the playoffs, and the matches against Mega, Red Star and Borac from Čačak are an opportunity to end the season in style in the regional competition and prepare for their obligations in the First Montenegrin Basketball League.
"Mega has been playing its recognizable style for years. Open court, good ball flow, plenty of three-point shots. Defensively, they are very aggressive on the ball and in pick-and-roll defense. A demanding opponent and a serious challenge for our team. I hope that the fact that we have fulfilled our ambitions in terms of placement will not be felt and that with a lot of motivation and hard work, we will try to surprise the Mega team," said the "students" coach, Petar Mijović, in the match announcement.
After Mega, the "students" will play against Red Star on Thursday, also in Belgrade.
"We are starting the 'double round' in Belgrade against Mega, which is fighting for seventh or eighth place in the playoffs. They have been playing very well lately, they have won four games in a row and are very close to securing the playoffs. Like every year, they are a young team that plays fast basketball with a lot of transition attacks, and it is up to us to try to slow down their rhythm of play and bring them into ours. Although we no longer have a chance for the playoffs, the goal is to finish the last games with wins, so we will do our best to win," said SC Derbija center Zoran Nikolić.
