San Antonio's Stephon Castle has been named the NBA's Rookie of the Year for the 2024/25 season.
The award winner was voted on by a global panel of journalists, and Castle won 92 out of a possible 100 first-place votes and a total of 482 points, the NBA said.
"Coming in with all the confidence I had, that was my goal from day one. I'm just happy I was able to accomplish it," Castle told TNT.
The San Antonio point guard was the top scorer among all rookies with 14,7 points per game, as well as the fourth-best assister (4,1 assists per game) and sixth-best stealer (0,9 steals per game).
Castle became the fourth player to win this award as a member of San Antonio, following David Robinson, Tim Duncan and last season's winner Victor Wembanyama.
Second in the rookie of the year award was last year's first-round pick, Atlanta winger Zachary Rizasher, with 245 points and five first-place votes, while the remaining three first-place votes went to Memphis guard Jaylen Wells, who finished third in the voting with 123 points.
Alex Sarr (Washington), Zach Eady (Memphis), Kelel Weir (Miami), Matas Bouzelis (Chicago) and Jared McCain (Philadelphia) also received votes for the remaining seats.
