The head coach of the Montenegrin women's basketball team, Jelena Škerović, has announced the list of players for the upcoming European Championship.
Montenegrin women's basketball players have not missed a continental competition since gaining independence, and the upcoming championship will be the eighth in a row in which our team will participate.
The women's basketball team will gather in Podgorica on May 13th and immediately head to Bar, where they will prepare.
Montenegro will face its first tests on May 20 and 21 against Serbia on Zlatibor, then from May 26 to 31 they will participate in the Games of Small Countries of Europe in Andorra, and on June 11 they will play Slovenia. Two days later, Montenegro will have its last test before Eurobasket in Bologna, against Italy.
The European Championship is scheduled for June 18-25, and Montenegro will play in Group B, in Brno, with the Czech Republic, Belgium and Portugal. Our team will play its first match on June 19 against the Czech Republic, a day later its rival is the current European champion, Belgium, and on June 22 there will be a duel with Portugal.
In addition to the Czech Republic, the group stage will be played in Greece, Italy and Germany. Two teams from each group will continue the competition in the quarter-finals, with Greece hosting the final.
