SC Derbija basketball players are closing the season in the AdmiralBet ABA League - they are closing the curtain with a duel against Borac from Čačak at the "M:tel Morača Hall", which is scheduled for tomorrow at 18 pm.
"Students" want to end in style, chasing their 11th victory in the regional competition in which they have long since fulfilled their goal of survival, but they were left without a chance of qualifying for the playoffs early on.
- Despite the fact that the match is not competitive, I hope that we will go out on the field with serious motivation. We have respect for Borac - they are a quality team with a lot of experience, which they have confirmed with their games this season in the ABA League. On the other hand, we have done what we wanted to do this season, because in addition to the results, we have affirmed a certain number of players - said Derby coach Petar Mijović.
Igor Drobnjak believes that SC Derbi can end its four-game losing streak.
- We have a physically difficult match ahead of us. We played a good match with Borac in Čačak, but in the end we lost. The team from Čačak is in good form, they have two wins in the last three matches. I think the most important thing for us will be to be maximally focused from the start of the match. I believe we are ready and we want to finish the season as best we can - Drobnjak emphasized.
Borac has the same performance as Derby before the last round - 10 wins and 19 losses.
- The derby is a combination of more experienced players with longer ABA experience and a few young and very talented basketball players. The Podgorica team plays at a fast pace, is aggressive, and also has shooting quality, especially on home court, where we remember some games with a large number of three-point shots. As for us, we will play without Valinkas and Furmanavičius, and our desire is to finish the ABA season with good play and dedication - says Borac coach Saša Ocokoljić.
