Member of the Board of Directors of the Basketball Association of Montenegro, Zoran Piperović, reacted after a statement signed by the members of the Board of Directors was sent to the media today.
Piperović states that he attended yesterday's Board of Directors meeting but that he does not know "on what occasion the denial was written" which was signed by all members of the Board of Directors except him.
"I see that the denial was signed by all members of the Board of Directors except me. And then it became clear to me. The truth is this: the agenda item was - preparation of the assembly of the Basketball Association of Montenegro, but the assembly began with most members of the Board of Directors asking whether they could propose a candidate for president of the Association. Željka Ratković from Herceg Novi was the most agile in this," says Piperović and states:
"After I asked what the topic of the agenda was, whether it was what was written in the material or the selection of candidates, I explained why, after the resignation of the president of the Association, the Board of Directors was deprived of the legal authority to come up with its proposal. And at the very end of the session, Ms. Ratković said that she would still propose a candidate, which she did not do."
"It is obvious that the Board of Directors meeting was scheduled yesterday just for that reason, and this denial, which is incorrect because I was excluded from signing it just for that reason, best speaks to what the plan of the Board of Directors meeting was. I am so experienced that I know why they met yesterday. The plan was spoiled only by my presence because everyone expected me not to be there. To spare them the dilemma - proposing is legitimate. Poltrooning is disgusting, but so is proposing when the time comes. Signing all the Board of Directors members and leaving out one member is scandalous and it is fortunate that this happened for the first time in the history of the Basketball Association," Piperović concluded.
