The first semi-finalist of the AdmiralBet ABA League has been announced.
It is the current champion Red Star Belgrade, which tonight, after much excitement, defeated Igokea 95:90 in Laktaši and ended the quarterfinal series with a 2:0 win.
A big derby is coming up - the "red and white" will face Buducnost Voli in the semifinals, who will face Mega in Novi Beograd on Friday and if they win, they will have to schedule a duel with Giannis Sferopoulos' team.
For a long time, it seemed that the master of the game was coming in Laktaši in the Belgrade Arena, because Igokea had a double-digit lead in the first and second half, but the "red and white" showed in the finish why they are one of the favorites for the ring.
It didn't help the home team that Miloš Teodosić was first given a technical foul with two and a half minutes left, and then suspended after he fouled Marko Jeremic on a three-point shot.
After five consecutive free throws (three made) and a basket by Bryce Jones, Igokea had a plus six with 2.15 left - 88:82, but the finish went to Red Star.
Nemanja Nedović led Red Star with 26 points, Filip Petrushev had 21 with 10 rebounds, and Jones scored 17 for Igokea (he also added eight assists, seven steals and five turnovers).
