Oklahoma City's basketball team advanced to the NBA Western Conference playoff finals after defeating Denver 125:93 (21:26, 39:20, 37:26, 28:21) tonight in the decisive, seventh game of the Western Conference semifinal series.
Oklahoma won the series 4:3 overall.
Oklahoma City's Shay Gilges-Alexander led the way with 35 points. Jaylen Williams added 24 points, seven assists and five rebounds, Chet Holmgren had 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Alex Caruso had 11 points. The Thunder's only other double-digit scorer was Isaiah Hartenstein with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Denver's most efficient player was Serbian international Nikola Jokić with 20 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Christian Brown added 19 points, Jamal Murray scored 13 points, while Aaron Gordon, who played despite a hamstring injury, recorded eight points and 11 rebounds.
Oklahoma will play Minnesota, which defeated Golden State 4-1 on aggregate, in the Western Conference playoff finals. The first game of that series is scheduled for Tuesday night in Oklahoma City.
New York and Indiana will meet in the Eastern Conference finals.
