The boys from Ontario who have been pushing each other to be better since they were little, who have made Canada a basketball powerhouse, will now face each other on the biggest stage - in the NBA Western Conference Finals.
Shai Gilges-Alexander and Nickel Alexander-Walker will clash in a duel between the two best teams in the West - Oklahoma and Minnesota. The two are cousins, but as they have said many times, they were raised as if they were brothers.
Throughout their childhood, they always played "one on one", and now they will have to show who is better in the fight for the big NBA finals.
"It's going to be a lot of fun. It's hard to explain this situation, especially when you know how close we are... He's literally like a brother to me," emphasized Gilges-Alexander, the guy who led Oklahoma from the triumph over Denver in the seventh game of the Western Conference semifinals.
When they run out onto the field against each other, all of that will be forgotten.
"We've been through all the stages of life together, it's all really special, but on the field there will be no mercy from either side," the Oklahoma maestro is clear.
Giljes-Aleksander is having a dream season, leading OKC to first place in the league, and then to the Western Conference finals, and along with Nikola Jokić, he is the main candidate for the MVP award.
On the other hand, Alexander-Walker is the Timberwolves' shadow hero, a great sixth man and excellent defensively.
