The Eastern Conference Finals couldn't have started any better - Indiana's basketball players took the lead against New York after a super-exciting match, winning 138:135 on the away court after overtime.
Indiana was led to victory by Tyrese Halliburton with 31 points and 11 assists and Aaron Nasmith with 30 points.
"Unrealistic, this is the best feeling in the world. When your basket is like an ocean, and everything you try goes in. It's so much fun," Nesmith said with a smile.
Jaylen Brunson had a great game for New York with 43 points, as well as Karl-Anthony Towns with 35 points and 12 rebounds.
"We've played a lot of games this season where the opponent seemed to be in control. But nothing's over until it's over. A great win, but I honestly believe we can do much better," Haliburton said.
New York had a 15-point lead with just over four minutes left in the game, and with 58 seconds left, they led by nine points, but Indiana managed to come back and win overtime.
They were led by Nesmith, who made three three-pointers in the final minute, and also by Halibarton, who hit the last shot in regulation.
The second game will be played on the night between Friday and Saturday, and New York will once again be the host.
