The Bass family has agreed to sell a majority stake in the Los Angeles Lakers and hand over the famous franchise to billionaire and LA Dodgers owner Mark Walton for a whopping $10 billion.
Walton and a group of investors will pay $10 billion for a 66 percent stake in the famous NBA franchise.
About a year ago, the Los Angeles-based organization was valued at $6,5 billion.
The late Jerry Buss purchased the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA), the Los Angeles Kings (NHL), the Forum basketball arena, and 1979 square kilometers of land in Nevada from Jack Kent Cook in 52 for $67,5 million.
Almost half a century later, Jerry's daughter Jeannie - who had since removed her brother Jim from the management of the LA Lakers - sold the winners of 18 championship titles for a huge sum of money.
