Two EuroBaskets, a total of 40 participants, and 15 countries can boast of having both a women's and men's national team at the major competition this summer.
Among them, mostly basketball superpowers, is Montenegro.
Our country's women's basketball team, it's true, said goodbye to the European Championship after just three matches and three convincing defeats, while the men's basketball team will face a challenge in Tampere on August 27th.
When we know what the base of Montenegro is, as well as how the Basketball Federation has been functioning lately, it is not difficult to conclude that this is a great success. First of all, because our country is the smallest of all those that have both representatives at the European Championship.

In addition to Montenegro, countries that have both women's and men's teams at Eurobasket this summer include France, Spain, Serbia, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Slovenia, Latvia, but also those that are somewhat less basketball-oriented, such as the Czech Republic, Belgium, Great Britain, Sweden and Portugal.
The women's team in Brno made their eighth appearance at the European Championships since regaining independence, and it was also their worst so far. Thus, sixth place in their debut appearance at EuroBasket 2011 remains the best result for our basketball team.

On the other hand, the basketball players will be part of EuroBasket for the fifth time in total, and the third time in a row. In addition, they have two appearances at the world championships (2019 and 2023).
Boško Radović's men will play in a group this summer organized by Finland, and in addition to the hosts, their rivals will also be Germany, Lithuania, Sweden and Great Britain.
Our national team will try to improve on the 13th place it achieved at the last two European championships, which are also Montenegro's best finishes in this competition.
