Trento was a known rival even before the draw, and then the balls connected the basketball players of Buducnost Voli with the other opponents in the new Eurocup season.
The Montenegrin champion will play in Group B against Turk Telekom, Burg, Ulm, Besiktas, Panionios, Litkabelis, Chemnitz, London Lions and of course the aforementioned Italian representative, as decided at the draw in Barcelona.
Besiktas, Ulm and Trento were rivals of the "blue and whites" last season, while Turk Telekom eliminated Andrej Žakelj's team in the playoffs.
Buducnost traditionally does not fare well against Turkish teams, so last season it lost each of its five matches against rivals from that country, while for example it has never defeated Turk Telekom in its history.
Among other rivals, the arrival of former basketball player and coach of the "blue and whites" Luka Pavićević, who took over the Greek Panionios, will be interesting.
Group A consists of Hapoel Jerusalem, Manresa, Cluj, Bahçeşehir, Venezia, Aris, Neptunas, Cedevita-Olimpija, Hamburg and Szczecin.
The system of the second-best European competition has not changed, so it will have two groups with 10 clubs each.
The top two teams from each group will advance directly to the quarterfinals, while the teams ranked third to sixth will play in the round of 16 for four more places among the top eight.
As before, in the round of 16 and quarter-finals, one match will be played on the field of the higher-placed team in the league section, while the semi-finals and final will be played in two best-of-five matches.
