It was possible to guess who would not be on the next Eurobasket roster when the broader list of players was announced.
Montenegrin basketball coach Boško Radović has shortened the list to 15 players, and as expected, the injured captain Bojan Dubljević is not on it.
Apart from him, the guys who are going to the NCAA - Luka Bogavac, Andrija Grbović and David Mirković - will not start their preparations for the European Championship as expected. In addition to all of them, Fedor Žugić, Jovan Vojinović, Pavle Đurišić, Petar Kusovac, Marko Radunović and Miloš Popović are also no longer on the list.
It has been known for a long time that Nikola Ivanović, Petar Popović, Nemanja Radović and Dino Radončić will not wear the red jersey this summer.
Thus, on July 24, Boško Radović will be joined by Kyle Olmen (Besiktas), Igor Drobnjak (Spartak), Ognjen Čarapić (NK Pécs), Vladimir Mihailović (Zadar), Balša Živanović (SC Derbi), Zoran Vučeljić (SC Derbi), Jovan Kljajić (Gran Canaria), Đorđije Jovanović (Buducnost Voli), Andrija Slavković (Buducnost Voli), Emir Hadžibegović (SC Derbi), Bojan Tomašević (FMP), Filip Andušić (SC Derbi), Marko Simonović, Zoran Nikolić (SC Derbi) and Nikola Vučević (Chicago).
Filip Andjušić from SC Derby could make his debut for our national team if he eventually travels to Tampere, while Bojan Tomašević from FMP was previously part of the national team, but did not play.
As announced by the Basketball Federation of Montenegro, our team will have five friendly matches. First, three away matches - on August 4th against France, then on August 10th in Sarajevo against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and four days later in Thessaloniki against Greece.
Montenegro will play one test match in Bar, against Israel on August 17th, while the final test awaits them in Istanbul against Turkey on August 22nd.
Montenegro will play the group stage of EuroBasket in Tampere with one of the championship hosts, the Finnish team, and Group B also includes Germany, Lithuania, Great Britain and Sweden.
Everything starts on August 27th.
