Minnesota's Donte DiVincenzo is among 18 players named to Italy coach Gianmarco Poceco's extended roster for the European Championship, the Italian Basketball Federation announced.
"Donte Divicenzo has been invited by the Federation to join the national team that begins preparations for the championship on July 30," the statement said.
Divicenzo, who is of Italian descent, has initiated the procedure for obtaining citizenship, which could be completed in the coming days or weeks.
The two-time NCAA champion with Villanova University began his NBA career in Milwaukee (2018-2022), with whom he has a ring.
After that, he played for Sacramento, Golden State and New York, and finished the 2024/25 season in Minnesota.
Italy, the two-time European champion, will play in Group C with Spain, Greece, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Cyprus.
The 2025 European Championship is being jointly organized by Cyprus, Latvia, Finland and Poland, and the group stage matches will run from August 28 to September 4.
Montenegro is also part of EuroBasket, playing in Group B with Germany, Finland, Great Britain, Lithuania and Sweden.
