The head coach of the Serbian men's basketball team, Svetislav Pešić, announced today the expanded list of players for the upcoming European Championship.
The European Championship will last from August 27 to September 14 this year in Latvia, Poland, Cyprus and Finland, and the Serbian national team will play in Group A in Riga with the teams of Turkey, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Portugal and Estonia.
The list of 17 players includes: Aleksa Avramović, Stefan Jović, Vasilije Micić, Bogdan Bogdanović, Marko Guduric, Uroš Trifunović, Nikola Topić, Ognjen Dobrić, Vanja Marinković, Dejan Davidovac, Nikola Jović, Filip Petrushev, Nikola Jokić, Nikola Milutinov, Tristan Vukčević, Balša Koprivica and Alen Smailagić.
Assistant coaches to Pešić will be Oliver Kostić, Ognjen Stojaković, Marko Marinović, Nenad Jakovljević and Mihajlo Mitić. Fitness coaches are Marko Sekulić, Marko Stanojević, Fedja Sretenović and Stefan Radoičić.
The Serbian national team will begin preparations with a gathering in Belgrade today. The first part of the preparations will be in Stara Pazova, while the first two friendly matches, which will be played in the Belgrade Arena against the national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina (August 5) and Poland (August 6), will be closed to the public.
The Serbian national team will then play in two preparatory tournaments. First in Cyprus on August 9th and 10th with the national teams of Cyprus, Greece and Israel, and then in Munich on August 15th and 16th with the national teams of Germany, Turkey and the Czech Republic.
Serbian basketball players will finish their preparations on August 21st, with a match against the Slovenian national team at the Belgrade Arena.
