The Montenegrin junior basketball team has advanced to the quarterfinals of the European Championship B in Romania. The Montenegrin basketball team was defeated last night in Ploesti, in Group D, by Slovakia 75:68 and finished the competition in second place in the group.
Slovakia and Croatia had the same result. The quarter-finalists were decided by goal difference, in which Slovakia was the most successful and from first position won a place among the top eight.
Montenegrin basketball players, besides the defeat against Slovakia, celebrated against Croatia 85:80, Norway 92:73 and the Netherlands 80:76.
In the fight for the semi-finals, the Montenegrin juniors will meet undefeated Estonia, the leader of Group C, on Friday.
The most efficient player in the defeat against Slovakia was Vladimir Komnenović with 14, Đorđe Đukanović scored 12, and Đorđe Gulić scored one point less.
