Two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo will not travel with the Greek national team to an upcoming friendly tournament in Cyprus.
The Greek Basketball Federation announced today that, in addition to Antetokounmpo, Vasilis Toliopulos and Vangelis Zugris will also miss the tournament in Limassol.
Among the 16 players whom selector Vasilis Spanulis voted for: Costas Papanikolaou, Costas Slukas, Janulis Larencakis, Tanasis Adetokumbo, Konstantinos Mitoglu, Tajler Dorsi, Costas Adetokumbo, Dimitris Huakis, Antokinis Pacalic, Karajanidis, Omiros Necipoglu, Aleksandrs Samodurov, Lt. Liotopoulos, Aleksandrs Nikolaidis and Athanasios Bazinas.
The Greek national team will play its first match at the tournament in Limassol against the Serbian national team on Saturday at 19.30:XNUMX PM, while the match against Israel will be played on Sunday at the same time.
The friendly tournament in Cyprus is being played ahead of this year's European Championship, which will be held from August 27 to September 14 in Latvia, Poland, Cyprus and Finland.
The Greek national team will play in Group C in Limassol with the teams of Spain, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus and Georgia.
