The warm-up for EuroBasket continues in Thessaloniki, the third rival during the preparations will be Greece, and the game played tomorrow (Thursday) at 19 p.m. will be Kyle Olman's first in the red jersey.
The Montenegrin basketball players in the port city in northern Greece will be stronger for the point guard who later finished the season in the Besiktas jersey, and who will defend the colors of Turk Telekom in the new one.
"For the first time, Olmen will be in our squad - I am satisfied, we are doing well, although we are missing a bit of a 'bench', players who can play at this level. I hope we will have more players available for the European Championship and thus a wider rotation for the matches we have ahead of us," said coach Boško Radović, for the Federation's website.
His boys were defeated in the first test match by France, but they played a good match against one of the strongest teams in the world, and then defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo.
"We couldn't count on Olmen in those matches, but now he's finally here and he'll bring extra quality to this team, plus we're getting another player in the rotation, so I think we'll be quite good at the playmaker position for the European Championship," added the coach.
Igor Drobnjak played the previous two matches in that position.
"He had a lot of minutes, maybe more than he should have, because by force of circumstances he was the only point guard in the squad, but he played two very good and mature games," the coach praised the former SC Derby point guard.
Greece will be the next test before Eurobasket which starts on August 27th in Latvia, Finland, Poland and Cyprus.
"We have another serious national team waiting for us. I think that in the three control matches that remain until the start of the championship, we will slightly expand the number of those who will play, because it is important for some of the younger players to show that they are ready for the European Championship," concluded the coach.
Vasilis Spanoulis, the Greek coach, will not be able to count on the first star Giannis Antetokounmpo for tomorrow's match against Montenegro. As reported by Greek media, the NBA ace and one of the best basketball players on the planet will be in the 14-man protocol for the match against our national team, but he will not play.
Montenegro will play in the EuroBasket group hosted by Tampere, and its rivals will be Germany, Lithuania, Sweden, Great Britain and host Finland.
