The Montenegrin national basketball team has three test matches behind them, and matches against France, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Greece have shown that Boško Radović's team has something to show at the European Championship, even though they will be in a weakened squad.
Now our selection faces its fourth test match, and also the only one in Montenegro - tomorrow (16.30:XNUMX) the team will welcome Israel, another participant in the upcoming continental competition, to the "Topolica" in Bar.
"We can be satisfied with what we have shown in the past three matches. We are getting more and more good minutes. There are still things that are a little more difficult to correct, but we will look to correct the shortcomings through the remaining control matches and training sessions," said coach Boško Radović.
Radović points out that Israel is similar to the teams against which Montenegro will chase a place in the knockout stage of the championship.
"We have a fourth friendly match against Israel. Israel is an atypical opponent, similar to Sweden, Finland and Great Britain. The match comes at a good time, the opponent is different than the previous rivals in the preparation period," explained the coach.
Vladimir Mihailović will miss the match against Israel, as he did not play against Greece either.
"The boys are healthy, we have a small problem with Vladimir Mihailović, related to his foot. He will miss this match as well. We will try to keep him, so that he is ready for the match against Turkey. If not, then for the European Championship, so that he is ready to help us then," said Boško Radović.
Andrija Slavković is satisfied with how the preparations are going so far.
"We are preparing well and with quality. We had quality tests, we are on the right track and I think that will be good at the championship. On paper, Israel may be a better team than us, because we are a decimated team. But we are going out on the field with as much energy and desire to win as possible," said Slavković.
After the match with Israel, Montenegro will face Turkey on August 22nd, and then travel to Tampere.
