The coach of the Serbian national basketball team, Svetislav Pešić, has selected 12 players for the European Championship.
The list includes: Aleksa Avramović, Stefan Jović, Vasilije Micić, Bogdan Bogdanović, Marko Guduric, Ognjen Dobrić, Vanja Marinković, Nikola Jović, Filip Petrušev, Nikola Jokić, Nikola Milutinov and Tristan Vukčević.
Nikola Topić, Dejan Davidovac and Balša Koprivica will not be participating in the championship. Uroš Trifunović and Alen Smailagić were previously excluded from the list due to injuries.
"There's always something at the end of the preparation period that's not easy for a coach. The coach is there to make decisions and take responsibility for the team. This time it was really difficult to make a decision about which 12 will travel to the European Championship. Those who are not going, but wanted to go, they accepted that the team is above all of us, so that's why I'm, first of all, proud of them, the three who are not going, which are Topić, Koprivica and Davidovac. I always say that training is important because if it wasn't, we wouldn't train so much, but it's even more important to train interpersonal relationships and we do that every day. That's a quality that can always help us this time and at the European Championship," said Pešić.
Serbia is in Group A of the championship with the teams of Latvia, Portugal, Turkey, Czech Republic and Estonia.
The European Championship is scheduled from August 27 to September 14.
