An important victory was achieved today by the Montenegrin national basketball team, which defeated Sweden 87:81 in the fourth round of Group B of the European Championship in Tampere.
This was a match of great importance, it was known that a victory would leave our team in the race for the round of 16, and that a defeat would mean the end of the dream of the knockout stage. And today the team showed character and reaction after three defeats and achieved an important triumph.
"The important thing is to win, to stay in the tournament. We knew that the last two games would be decisive and that's how it turned out. We were the better team on the field, but we still had empty minutes, especially in defense, we conceded 34 points in the first half, and 31 in the third quarter, that shouldn't happen. In the last quarter, we played more maturely in attack, Olmen appeared with points, we played good defense and it seems to me that we deserved the victory. Nothing is over, we have a game against Great Britain that, if there are no special surprises, will decide whether we advance to the knockout stage," said coach Boško Radović after the match.

There were moments of nervousness, Montenegro made mistakes, but in the end they triumphed.
"There was unnecessary nervousness, from one mistake in attack we went into another, a third... We controlled most of the game, there was absolutely no need to get nervous. Some players play for 35 minutes, it's already the fourth game, you can feel the fatigue, but the most important thing is that we won and we're waiting for Great Britain in two days," concluded Radović.
In the final round, Montenegro plays against Great Britain on Wednesday (12:30).
