Ergin Ataman was the European champion at the club level three times, and now he has a great chance to conquer the Old Continent with the national team.
Turkey is in the EuroBasket final after a spectacular victory over Greece (94:58), and the Panathinaikos coach briefly said after the game that nothing has been done yet.
"This is not enough for us, we came for the gold," said Ataman.
The Greeks were not a worthy rival, and Germany awaits Turkey in the final (Sunday at 20 p.m.)
"We started the game very aggressively and played great defense, gained confidence and control.... We had the right plan, but it's one thing when you have it, and another when you put it into action," Ataman pointed out.
Ercan Osmani scored 28 points and played an excellent role in defense.
"We talked before the game, even at the press conference, that we would play aggressively against Giannis Antetokounmpo. Whenever he attacked Osmani, we would help with Shengun. We played great defense against Giannis, I don't know if I did Anadolu Efes a favor because now NBA teams will be chasing Osmani. He was smart and aggressive," Ataman added.
