In the second match of the season at the "Mtel Morača Hall", and the first in the Eurocup, the Buducnost Voli basketball team suffered a defeat - this time the "blues" were defeated by Trento, who won last night in the second round of the Eurocup (107:96).
Buducnost was once again lackluster in defense, conceding 107 points to a team that had scored 48 in the first round. The team played softly, without pressure or focus, said coach Andrej Žakelj.
"They were better the whole game. We had some moments of good play. When we played defense and 'pressed' the ball, as was agreed upon, then we played basketball and had easy points. When we played the opposite of this, then it was as it was - the whole game was soft, without pressure, and ultimately without focus. That way, no one can win," Žakelj said after the match.
Buducnost suffered two defeats at home in three days.
"We knew everything about the opponent, there's no alibi there, we knew they were good at counter-attacking and playing 'one-on-one', we prepared for that, but on the field it looked different. We'll have to resolve that in the locker room, analyze it and move on," said Žakelj.
Buducnost will host Cedevita-Olimpije on Saturday (20) in the second round of the ABA2 league.
