SC Derby basketball players suffered their second defeat in the ABA League this season.
They lost away for the first time - to FMP in Železnik in a match full of twists and turns, 87:80.
SC Derbi opened the game much better, taking a 7:0 lead and conceding the first points only after three minutes of basketball.
Aleksa Ilić dominated the first quarter, the Podgorica team's lead later reached plus 14 (26:12), but in the second quarter the rivals switched roles.
The Panthers reduced the deficit, then went on a 13:0 run to turn the score around 42:37.
Ilić broke the bad streak and scored for 42:39 (it was his tenth point, he shot five out of five from the field), and in the last minute, Filip Barna on one side and Emir Hadžibegović on the other side made three-pointers for 45:42 at halftime.
FMP shot 6-0 from three in the first quarter, and then made six of nine attempts in the second...
The start of the second half belonged again to Petar Mijović's team, who had a plus seven lead (59:52) with just over two minutes left in the third quarter, but that advantage quickly evaporated.
The last time the guests led was in the first minute of the final period when it was 61:60, after which they were forced to chase - and failed.
Ilić was without a miss and with 15 points was the most efficient player in Derby, Amar Gegić had the same performance, Darius Johnson scored 14.
Barna and Joshua Scott each scored 19 points for the home team.
SC Derbi has a chance for its first triumph next Sunday when it hosts Split.
