Oklahoma City defeated Houston 125:124 in two overtimes at home last night, in the first game of the new NBA season.
The most efficient player for Oklahoma City, the current NBA champion, was Shay Gilges-Alexander with 35 points, five rebounds and five assists. Chet Holmgren added 28 points and seven rebounds, Angel Mitchell scored 16 points, while Cason Wallace recorded 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals.
Alperen Shengun led Houston with 39 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. Kevin Durant added 23 points and nine rebounds, Aimen Thompson scored 18 points, while Jabari Smith Jr. scored 16 points.
The Rockets had their final drive of the second overtime with 2,3 seconds left. Steven Adams passed the ball to Jabari Smith Jr., who missed a turnaround shot for the game-winning shot.
Golden State defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 119:109 on the road.
Jimmy Butler led the Golden State team with 31 points. Stephen Curry added 23 points, while Buddy Hield and Jonathan Cummings each scored 17 points, along with nine rebounds and six assists. Draymond Green finished the game with eight points, nine assists and seven rebounds.
Luka Dončić led the Lakers with 43 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists. Austin Reeves added 26 points and nine assists, while Deandre Ayton had 10 points and six rebounds.
Four-time NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Lakers winger LeBron James missed the game due to injury.
