The Buducnost Bemax women's basketball team was defeated in Montana by the Bulgarian team of the same name 88:82 in the third round of the WABA League.
This is the first defeat for the Podgorica team in the regional competition this season, in which they also had a victory against Rilski.
Montana, which also won against Celje in the last round, recorded its third triumph and confirmed its high ambitions.
A poor third quarter cost the Podgorica team a more favorable result in the Mladost hall.
After an even start, Buducnost won the first quarter 23:17, and had an advantage at halftime (43:39).
In the third quarter, the home team took advantage of the official champion's decline and went on a 16:0 run to take a 60:53 lead, which was 70:58 before the last ten minutes.
Buducnost did not give up and managed to tie the game (79:79) in the 38th minute with three-pointers from Zorana Radonjić and Milena Bigović, but failed to turn the game around.
Radonjić was the most efficient player in the Podgorica team with 29 points, while Jovana Savković added 18. The best player in the Bulgarian team was Radostina Hristova with 20 points.
Buducnost will host Partizan in the next round, on October 29th.
