The Greek national basketball team will not change its coach, Vasilis Spanoulis will remain the head coach, the Greek Federation has confirmed.
Spanoulis has been the coach of Greece since October 2, 2023, succeeding Dimitris Itoudis in that position.
He led Greece to the 2024 Paris Olympics, and the national team was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Germany.
He then won bronze with the "Hellenic" team at the European Championships this year, which is the first continental medal for Greece in 16 years.
Greece's next commitments await them at the end of the month in World Cup qualifiers. The Greeks are in Group B with Montenegro, Portugal and Romania. Spanoulis' team welcomes Romania on November 27th and plays Portugal three days later.
Greece will play Montenegro at home on February 27th next year, while the match in Podgorica will be played on March 2nd.
Three teams from this group advance to the second phase and form a new group with teams from Group A, which includes Spain, Denmark, Ukraine and Georgia.
Then, three national teams from that group will qualify for the World Basketball Championship.
