Short and clear - victory is the most important thing, that's Andrej Žakelj's message after a complicated match with Ljubljana's Ilirija in the ABA League.
The Podgorica team celebrated 84:78 after a modest first half, but they had no problem getting what they wanted in the rest of the game.
"We knew it would be a game like this. After the exhaustion three days ago and the trip from Germany, I expected a tough match. It's not that we didn't have the energy or the desire, but our legs were slow so our concentration and focus weren't up to par," said Žakelj.
Buducnost was down 10 in the second quarter before picking up the pace in the third quarter and regaining control.
"At the beginning we couldn't hit anything. Every shot was short. Ilirija was "collecting" the racket, and we were losing balls and conceding easy points. In the 3rd quarter we stepped up, made a difference that was enough to win the game. That was our goal so we could focus on what awaits us on Tuesday," Žakelj emphasized, referring to the duel with Ulm in the 8th round of the Eurocup.
