Budućnost Voli basketball players defeated Ulm (101:71) in Podgorica tonight and recorded their most convincing victory this season.
The "Blues" settled everything tonight in the third quarter when they made a 23:3 run and reached a 30-point lead - 79:49.
"Congratulations to the players, we played a good game. We were all afraid of this match because of some injuries. I think we played the first half softly, allowed some easy shots, especially in the last seconds. We conceded a lot of points, but in the third quarter we played defense at a level and that decided the game. I'm glad for some players that they got a bigger chance, I'm glad that Jogi Ferel is back. We need to rest and move on," said the "blues" coach, Andrej Žakelj, after the match.
Buducnost will play Megi on Sunday (12) in the ABA League, and then the international break will follow. After the break, the first match is against Burgas in the Eurocup (5 December). The "Blues" are waiting for the break in a good rhythm.
"That's how it is. We can't influence that. The players are going to the national team. We will have a few training sessions before the away game against Burgas, but we won't cry. We have to rest some players, some have to recover from injuries, and then when we get together we can make the most of it. We'll see how we react after the break," said Žakelj.
Yogi Ferrell returned from injury tonight, while James Thompson is still out.
"Thompson has a rupture. Recovery is going well, but it takes time. I hope he will be able to train after the break," concluded Žakelj.
