Podgorica Bemax basketball players welcome Student from Banja Luka today (16) in the fourth round of the ABA2 league.
Podgorica has recorded three losses in the regional competition (Borac from Banja Luka, Sloboda and Jahorina), while Student has losses against Mornar and MZT, and a triumph against Zlatibor.
Miodrag Kadija's team will try to record their first triumph this season in the ABA 2 League.
"We have Student, who has a young team, and who, just like us, did not open the season as expected. However, they showed against Zlatibor and MZT that they can threaten more experienced teams, and we have to give our maximum and respect the tactics prepared by the coach. If we play with the same desire and motivation as against Jahorina, I hope we can defend our home field and record our first victory in the ABA 2 league this season," Danilo Ivanović, playmaker of Podgorica Bemax, told the club's website.
Podgorica triumphed against Ibar in Rožaje three days ago in the First Montenegrin Basketball League, and the important break should have further boosted their confidence, so the Montenegrin team hopes they can achieve a positive result.
"After two consecutive away games in the ABA 2 League, we now have another demanding match at home. It won't be easy, Student has shown that he can be unpleasant, so we will definitely need a lot of energy for the entire 40 minutes. I hope that the victory in Rožaje meant a lot to us psychologically, so I believe that we can play a good match," said Podgorica coach Miodrag Kadija.
Ivanovic points out that a victory would mean a lot to the team.
"We are aware that we have a tough job ahead of us, but I hope we can achieve a victory, which would mean a lot to us, not only in terms of results, but generally ahead of next season. We were close to winning both against Borac and Jahorina, and now with a little luck I hope we can achieve our first victory," emphasized Ivanovic.
