The Buducnost Bemaksa women's basketball team will play against Celje today (17) in the seventh round of the WABA League.
Buducnost has achieved four wins and one loss in the competition so far, while Celje has suffered two losses in the first five matches.
It will be a regional competition derby and a duel between the teams that have played for the title the most times over the last decade.
"Like every year, a special match in the regional league and we are certainly looking forward to that game. Celje has undergone major changes ahead of this season, but it is certainly a young and talented team, reinforced by three foreigners and led by a very experienced coach, who immediately imposed his playing system on them," said the coach of the Podgorica women's basketball team, Petar Stojanović.
He emphasized that his team has 40 minutes of great fighting and a match of great intensity ahead of them.
"We trained well, we are ready and we are looking forward to that match, which is always a special challenge," said Stojanović.
The Montenegrin and regional champion has won all four of his victories this season at the Bemaks Arena, and is still waiting for a victory away from home.
Buducnost winger Milena Bigović said that the duel against the Eagles was a good opportunity to get back into rhythm after the international break.
"It's positive that we played a quality match against Orlov, showed enviable pace and continued to prepare for Celje with real confidence. Now comes the big derby, and certainly no special motive is needed, because it's a rematch of the final," said Bigović.
