Cooper Flagg's historic first-round pick in Dallas' away win over the Clippers, Nikola Jokić's third game without a miss in Denver's triumph over the Phoenix Suns, and Charlotte's big turnaround to end Toronto's great streak, marked the evening in the strongest basketball league.
Indiana, one of the worst teams since the start of the season, also celebrated, defeating Chicago - 103:101, which entered the game equally weakened.
So even a solid half hour of play by Montenegrin center Nikola Vučević, who scored 16 points, grabbed eight rebounds (three on offense) and had one "steal" ball, didn't help.
And Flagg is the youngest basketball player in NBA history to score 35 or more points - he finished the game with 35 points (13/19 for two, 0/3 for three, 9/11 free throws), eight rebounds and two assists.
Jokić scored 26 points, missing his triple-double for the second time in a row, although social media condemned the NBA for unfairly writing off his rebound with half a minute left in the game against San Antonio.
Somborac hit all seven shots, both three-pointers and scored 25 or more points without a miss for the third time. Only Wilt Chamberlain has more, seven such games. Jokić also had 10 assists and nine rebounds, and the Nuggets were fantastic for three-pointers, shooting 57,9 percent (38/22), for a 130:112 victory.
Charlotte was trailing by 17 points, first star Lamelo Ball sat on the bench, and his teammates managed to reach overtime and win against Toronto, which was on a nine-game winning streak - 118:111.
The Hornets won the final quarter and overtime 32:15.
