What a match, what a clash between two great centers coming from European basketball. The Denver Nuggets defeated the Houston Rockets at home after overtime with a score of 128:125.
The winners were led by Nikola Jokić with his 12th triple-double of the season - 39 points, 15 rebounds and ten assists. On the other side, the best was Alperen Sengun with 33 points, ten rebounds and ten assists.
Jamal Murray also stood out for the Nuggets with 35 points, including six of his team's 11 points in overtime, while Kevin Durant finished the game with 25 points for the Texas team.
In the final minute and 40 seconds of regulation, the score was tied at four points and the teams traded the lead four times before Murray tied the game with a free throw with 2,3 seconds left at 117:117. Denver kept possession of the ball after the throw, but Jokić's attempt to make a three-pointer to give Denver the win was unsuccessful.
The Nuggets took a 124-117 lead after Spencer Jones' three-pointer with 2:59 left in overtime. Houston came within three points of the deficit in the final minutes, but everything was decided when Shengun missed a three-pointer with 4,9 seconds left.
This victory was the Nuggets' fifth in a row, and their 19th overall since the start of the season in 25 games. Houston was defeated for the third time in a row and now has a score of 16/7.
The Eastern Conference's leading team, Detroit, celebrated its fourth consecutive victory against Boston, 112:105. Cade Cunningham scored 32 points and 10 assists, while Jaylen Brown led the way with 34 points.
Utah beat Dallas 140-133 in overtime. Keyonte George led Utah with 37 points and Lauri Markkanen with 33 points, while Cooper Flagg's 42 points were not enough for the Mavs.
Memphis defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 121-103, led by Jaren Jackson who scored 31 points and Cam Spencer who added 27.
For the Clippers, who were defeated for the 12th time in their last 14 games, Kawhi Leonard scored 21 and Chris Dunn scored 17 points.
