Podgorica's basketball players suffered another defeat in the ABA2 league - Miodrag Kadija's team lost to Vojvodina tonight in Novi Sad (77:67).
After five rounds of the regional competition, Podgorica is still without a win, while Vojvodina is at 3-2.
Podgorica opened the match well, taking a 7:0 lead, and at the end of the first quarter had a six-point lead - 18:12.
At the end of the first and beginning of the second period, Vojvodina completed an 8:0 run and led 20:18.
After another seven-point run, Vojvodina took a 32:24 lead midway through the second quarter, and went into the break with an eight-point lead - 39:31.
Vojvodina led throughout the entire third quarter, and at one point had a maximum 13-point lead (61:48). Podgorica responded, made an 11:0 run and came close to 61:59, and then Marko Ljubičić and former Podgorica player Marko Kljajević took Vojvodina to plus nine (70:61). Aleksandar Ivanov Stoimenov put an end to the game, hitting a three-pointer for 77:67.
The most efficient player for Podgorica was Siniša Šorak with 16 points, while Ljubičić had 16 points. Kljajević finished the match with seven points and nine rebounds.
