Two of the three end-of-year matches at "Morača" were played flawlessly by the Buducnost Voli players - they scored 100 or more points in both and properly announced the big match with Turk Telekom, which will bring down the curtain on 2025.
After Vienna, Andrej Žakelj's team also easily defeated Mega - in the 12th round of the Admiralbet ABA League, it was 100:82.
"I congratulate the players on the victory and on their better approach, and that is the most important thing. In attack we played as a team, openly, playfully and in form, just like in the match against Vienna, but it is the defense that needs to be better," Žakelj said at the press conference.
He emphasized once again how important defense is.
"When we 'tightened' the defense a little, we also had quick attacks and that's what I ask of the players."
Now everything is ready for the spectacle and the duel with Turk Telekom in "Morača" - whoever wins on Tuesday will be able to fight equally for one of the first two places in the group. Although the most important match of the season so far is coming up in four days, there was no relaxation against Mega at any time.
"This was an important game, also because of the duel with Turk Telekom, and the players knew that. We had maximum respect for Megi, without underestimating her, and that's the way every game should be played. We deservedly celebrated, I wish Megi all the best in the new year, and we have to prepare as much as possible for Tuesday," the Buducnost coach is clear.
Juvan Morgan was injured at the end of the game.
"He has swelling around his wrist, but we'll see when everything calms down," Žakelj concluded.
