Minnesota was led by Anthony Edwards with 26 points and five rebounds, Jaden McDaniels scored 19 points, and Julius Randle had 15 points, 11 rebounds and five assists.
Minnesota's second win against Miami in the last four days was contributed by Naz Reed with 14 points and six rebounds, and Rudy Gobert with 13 points and six rebounds.
For Miami, Norman Powell scored 21 points, Tyler Hiro, who returned to the court after 11 consecutive games with a finger injury, had 17 points and nine rebounds. Andrew Wiggins added 10 points, and Nikola Jović had nine points, four rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block.
The Los Angeles Lakers defeated New Orleans 111:103 and achieved their fourth victory in the last five games. The Lakers were led by Luka Dončić with 30 points and 10 assists and LeBron James with 30 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
Deandre Ayton added 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Marcus Smith had 13 points, six rebounds and four assists.
New Orleans suffered its eighth straight loss, with Trey Murphy leading the team with a career-high 42 points. Zion Williamson scored 15 points, and Derrick Quinn had 10 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists.
The Cleveland Cavaliers beat Indiana 120-116 for their fourth win in the last five games. Darius Garland led the winning team with 29 points, 14 of which came in the fourth quarter.
Evan Mobley added 20 points, six rebounds and five assists, Jarrett Allen had 19 points and 12 rebounds, and Sam Merrill also finished the game with 19 points.
Indiana suffered its 13th straight loss, a franchise record, and the team has the worst record in the league at six wins and 31 losses. Pascal Siakam scored 22 points for the defending Eastern Conference champion, Jay Huff had 20 points, and Andrew Nemhardt had 15 points and 11 assists.
In other games, Memphis beat San Antonio 106:105 and snapped a four-game losing streak, Washington, without Tristan Vukčević, beat Orlando 120:112, and Dallas beat Sacramento 100:98 and snapped a seven-game losing streak on the road.
