Budućnost Voli basketball players routinely defeated Zadar (87:66) tonight in the 14th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League and recorded their 11th consecutive victory over the Croatian champion.
The "Blues" led from the start, opening the match with a 13:0 lead, leading by 15 in the second quarter (36:21), and settling the score in the final period, when they took an 80:62 lead after a 7:0 run.
"The goal was to win and I congratulate the players on that. Zadar plays difficult basketball, it took time to attack them and defend as we wanted, and we did that in the last quarter. But we need to be even better. The fatigue from the trip from Greece is visible, but that is no excuse. In the next games, which are very important to us, we will have to play harder, more aggressively, with greater focus. I am happy with the victory and the reaction. Congratulations to Zadar on a good game and I wish them all the best for the rest of the season," said Budućnost coach Andrej Žakelj after the match.
Buducnost will host Litkabelis in the Eurocup on Wednesday (19), and will play away against Cedevita-Olimpija in the ABA League on Saturday (20).
