The Bemax women's basketball team, Budućnost Bemaxa, will host Montana tomorrow (18 p.m.) in the derby of the 10th round of the WABA League. The duel in the "Bemax Arena" is likely to be the derby of the league stage, as this match could be crucial in the fight for first place, which guarantees direct placement in the final tournament, while the other teams will face the playoffs at the end of the league stage.
Both teams have one defeat each, and the "wolves" suffered their only setback this season from the double crown winners in Bulgaria.
"We are facing a tough match against Montana. In the first part of the season, we suffered a defeat in Bulgaria in a game that was almost a one-goal affair. I am quite sure that we are facing 40 very demanding minutes now. This is a very good and experienced team, which is covered in all positions. Compared to the first part of the season, Montana has made certain changes to the team, but has maintained its quality. However, we have used this break in the championship to refresh ourselves and to prepare further, and I am sure that we are ready and motivated to wait for this derby," said Petar Stojanović, coach of Podgorica.
The regional champion, after away wins against Celje and Rilski, will play tomorrow for the first time since November 24th at the "Bemax Arena". The first match of the year has an extraordinary significance.
"We trained hard, prepared for this match. We know it will be difficult, but Montana is the only team to beat us this season and we have additional motivation. We have to defend our home court and crown two significant breaks in the previous two rounds with a big win in the derby. We have a demanding duel ahead of us, but I believe we can achieve triumph," said Podgorica playmaker Marija Baošić.
