The Buducnost Voli basketball players returned to winning ways in the Eurocup, after a painful defeat to Panionios in Greece last week.
Litkabelis was ultimately defeated convincingly in Podgorica (95:81), although for a long time it seemed that the "blues" would have trouble achieving victory, especially when the guests had an eight-point lead at the beginning of the second half.
"We knew that Litkabelis could play much better than he has shown so far. They play solid basketball and if you don't respond in the same way, you're in trouble. The last two games we weren't at the level in terms of toughness and energy. We had a problem with that tonight in the first half," said Žakelj.
Next - awakening.
"After the locker room conversation, the players reacted, we only conceded 30 points in the second half. That's the only way we can play against anyone. We also got a rebound at the end, and I think that decided the game."
Buducnost played without Džuvan Morgan and Zoran Nikolić, and Fletcher Maggi also has a problem.
"We thought Morgan would be available for this game. He tried, it didn't work. We'll see how he'll be tomorrow or the day after. Nikolić will be out for a bit longer. We'll see with Megi, he'll definitely try his best to play. We have to find that energy and toughness that we had. Let's move on," said Žakelj.
Buducnost plays host to Cedevita Olimpija in the ABA League on Saturday.
