By the end of the season in the AdmiralBet ABA League, SC Derbija basketball players will, by all accounts, be fighting a big battle for survival. Petar Mijović's team has lost eight times in a row in the regional competition, has only two wins, and has three more matches left until the end of its Group A campaign, after which it will face the teams from Group B in the play-offs.
And the first of the three upcoming matches in Group A is tomorrow (18) in Laktaši - SC Derbi hosts Igokea in the 15th round of the ABA League.
"Igokea is a team that has been at the top of the ABA League for years. After a few changes to the roster, they have looked very good in the last few games. On the other hand, we want to be more consistent than in previous matches. We will try to follow the game plan and make the match uncertain with discipline in completing tasks, and then in such circumstances we look for a chance for an extremely important victory," Mijović emphasized in the match announcement.
Every match for the "students" will be of great importance.
"We are not behind the results we expected, so every next game is extremely important for us in order to try to achieve victory. We are playing away against a very good team that has shown that it can play with anyone and that it has the quality to deal with even the strongest teams. We are looking for our opportunities to win, to exploit their weaknesses that they have shown in recent games and to achieve the desired victory," said "Students" basketball player, Mateo Drežnjak.
