A great performance by SC Derby basketball players and their first victory since the end of October last year - and a convincing one at home against Igokea.
In Laktaši, it was 94:66 for Petar Mijović's team, who at the right moment - when the fight for survival was heating up - played their best game of the season by controlling the game for almost 35 minutes, led by Matica Rebeca.
Igokea opened the match better, taking an 8:0 lead and forcing Mijović to call a timeout after just over three minutes.
From that moment on, the "students" began their spectacular performance, immediately turning the game around with points from Aleksa Ilić, then three-pointers from Mateo Drežnjak and Rebec.
Igokea was a match in the first quarter, and it was clear that this would be Derby night in the second period, when he scored 35 points and went into the break on an 8:0 run for a big plus 18 - 53:35 (Rebeca's three-pointer at the sound of the siren).
Perhaps the home team's reaction at the start of the second half was expected, but the Podgorica team did not allow it, because Rebec and Drežnjak hit shots outside the 6,75 line in the first two attacks and the scoreboard read 35:59 in the 2nd minute of the 3rd quarter.
At the end of the third quarter, the score was a maximum of 77:44, so it was clear that Derby was confidently advancing towards its third win of the season and its first away win.
The last 10 minutes were just about getting the job done - the battle for survival will continue in the playoffs, but after such a performance, Mijović's team's confidence is at its peak.
Rebec was the most efficient with 17 points, Drežnjak had one less, Emir Hadžibegović 13, Aleksa Ilić 12, and Zoran Vučeljić 11...
