The basketball team of Budućnost Voli is expecting the toughest away game in the Eurocup - tomorrow (18) in the 15th round in Istanbul, the "blues" will play against Besiktas, whom they defeated in the first match, played in November last year in Podgorica.
"Blues" showed in the first match that the Turkish team is not without flaws, they celebrated three points (82:79) and showed that they can play against Dušan Alimpijević's team. Now they face a big challenge, a possible victory would launch them into second place and open the door to the quarterfinals. But, it will not be easy in the hall in Istanbul.
Meanwhile, Besiktas, who are aiming for a place in the Euroleague, have brought in two serious reinforcements - guard Matt Thomas and center Sertaç Sanli.
"We have a very important match ahead of us. Besiktas is one of the favorites to win the Eurocup. We have shown that we can play against them, but they are a different team when they play at home. They have brought in two new players, and we have some injury problems," said Buducnost coach Andrej Žakelj in the match announcement.
"The Blues", says Žakelj, will give their maximum.
"However, regardless of everything, we are going to Turkey to give our best and try to surprise them. This is a very solid and aggressive team that plays fast basketball, with a lot of three-point shots, which we have to pay special attention to. As before the previous games, we want to be focused on our game, concentration and toughness," said the coach of the "blues".
Buducnost defeated Litkabelis in Podgorica in the previous round of the Eurocup, then in the ABA League, in Ljubljana, they were better than Cedevita-Olimpija, the "blues" are in good rhythm.
"We know we have a tough game and a demanding away game ahead of us, but we are looking forward to the opportunity to fight for a good position before the upcoming playoffs. We expect a tough, competitive game, and with a few good practices we will be ready," said "Blues" basketball player Skylar Mays.
