Podgorica Bemax basketball players were defeated tonight in Skopje by MZT (67:54) in the seventh round of the ABA2 league.
Podgorica is 1-6 after this match, and MZT is 4-3.
Miodrag Kadija's team maintained the lead during the first quarter, and in the second quarter, after Danilo Ivanovic's points, they were down two points - 20:18.
Then MZT responded with eight consecutive points (28:18), and by the end of the first half had a 14-point lead - 34:20.
In the third quarter, the Macedonian team's lead grew to a massive 22-point lead - 54:32.
Podgorica managed to close the gap in the last quarter, and after a three-pointer by Mašan Vrbica, they were only eight points behind - 61:53.
But, by the end of the match, MZT repelled the visitors' onslaught and achieved triumph.
The most efficient player for Podgorica was Danilo Ivanovic with 16 points. Mašan Vrbica had 13 and Haris Ćurevac 12 points.
Dušan Tanasković was the best player for MZT with 14 points.
Podgorica welcomes Helios in the final round.
