Miami beats Chicago, Vučević has a double-double, Flagg scores 49 points in Dallas' defeat

Miami's basketball players defeated Chicago 116:113 on Thursday night, handing it its third consecutive defeat in the NBA.

Miami was led by Norman Powell with 21 points, Bam Adebayo with 20 points and 12 rebounds and Jaime Hakes with 19 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and three steals. Chicago's Ayo Dosunmu was the most efficient with 23 points with seven rebounds and five assists, Matas Buzelis scored 16 points with nine rebounds, and Nikola Vučević had 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Denver defeated Brooklyn 107-103, handing them their seventh straight loss. Jamal Murray led the Nuggets with 27 points, nine of which came in the final two minutes and 26 seconds.

Tim Hardaway added 25 points and eight rebounds, Peyton Watson 19 points, and Jonas Valanciunas 12 points and nine rebounds for the Nuggets, who snapped a three-game losing streak at home.

For Brooklyn, Michael Porter scored 38 points, 10 rebounds and three assists against his former club. He spent six seasons with the Nuggets, winning the title in 2023, and was traded to Brooklyn last summer. Denver played a video tribute to him during the first timeout, and the fans greeted him with a standing ovation.

For his team, Terrance Mann scored 12 points with six assists, and Nick Claxton had 10 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

Charlotte beat Dallas 123-121 for their fifth straight win. The Hornets were capped by Kon Knippel's two free throws with 4,1 seconds left. He finished with a career-high 34 points, Brandon Miller scored 23 points and grabbed six rebounds, and LaMelo Ball had 22 points and nine assists. Miles Bridges added 17 points, a steal, a rebound and eight assists.

For Dallas, 19-year-old Cooper Flagg scored 49 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. He broke the NBA record for most points scored by a teenager. The previous record was held by Cliff Robinson, who scored 45 points as a 19-year-old against New Jersey on March 9, 1980.

Klay Thompson added 16 points, Brandon Williams 15 points and six assists, and P.J. Washington 14 points and nine rebounds.

Minnesota defeated Oklahoma City 123-111 for their third straight win. Anthony Edwards led Minnesota with 26 points, five rebounds and five assists, while Jaden McDaniels had 21 points, four rebounds and four assists.

Naz Reed had 18 points and seven rebounds, and Rudy Gobert had 14 points and 11 rebounds for Minnesota, which hit 22 three-pointers.

For Oklahoma City, which remained the league's best team with 38 wins and 11 losses, Shay Gilges-Alexander was the most efficient with 30 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Chet Holmgren added 15 points and Cason Wallace had 13 points.

In other games, Phoenix, with 40 points from Dillon Brooks, defeated Detroit 114:96, and Washington defeated Milwaukee 109:99.

Houston defeated Atlanta 104:86, while Philadelphia, with 40 points from Tyrese Maxey, defeated Sacramento 113:111.
