Partizan basketball players convincingly defeated Panathinaikos 78:62 in the 27th round of the Euroleague.
In a duel in which the uninitiated would have concluded that Partizan was at the top and Panathinaikos was at the bottom of the table, instead of the other way around, the most outstanding player in the ranks of the winners was Cameron Payne with 18 points. Sterling Brown and Isaac Bonga added 16 each,
TJ Shorts was the most efficient player for Panathinaikos with 21 points.
Before the start of the match, Partizan fans chanted derogatory slogans against club president Ostoja Mijailović, as well as chanting the name of former black and whites coach Željko Obradović.
Partizan is now 17th in the standings with nine wins and 18 losses, while Panathinaikos is seventh with a score of 16/11.
"The team enjoyed tonight, our fans enjoyed it. We played a complete game, especially in the first three quarters. The team showed that they can play good defense against a very good team. We controlled the rhythm, ran well. The players deserved a big win because they deserved more in the last game. This is a good game for us and for our fans, and I hope we will have the same atmosphere against Dubai as we did now," said Partizan coach Gioan Peñaroja.
