Nikola Vučević was the central figure in the trade involving Chicago and Boston, leaving the Bulls and becoming part of another legendary franchise...
Now he's probably in a place where he can attack for a championship ring, if not this season then next.
The Montenegrin center has worn the "Bulls" jersey since 2021, and now he has said goodbye to the team, the city, and the entire organization in an open letter.
"Thank you Chicago for welcoming me and my family five years ago. It was an honor to represent the Bulls, a historic franchise, and to play in front of one of the best fans in the world at the United Center," Vučević wrote.
"While I hoped we could have accomplished more together on the field, I will always be grateful for my time in Chicago and everything this chapter of my life has given me. My family and I will truly miss the city and all the incredible people we met," Vučević said.
Finally, he had a message:
"PS As a big foodie, I've really enjoyed all the great restaurants Chicago has to offer. But, on the other hand, it's a little off-putting to me for any other place I go."
Vučević arrived in the NBA in 2011 when he played for Philadelphia, and then from 2012 to 2021 he wore the Orlando jersey.
Vučević is expected to make his Celtics debut on Friday night against Miami.
