Montenegrin basketball player Nikola Vučević made his debut for Boston and immediately showed that he would be a great addition to the Celtics.
Boston defeated Miami at home last night (98:96), recording its fifth consecutive victory in the NBA, and Vučević played an excellent match and recorded a double-double.
In 28 minutes, the Montenegrin basketball player had 11 points, 12 rebounds (six each offensive and defensive), four assists and two steals. He entered the court midway through the first quarter, and the crowd greeted him with a standing ovation.
Boston came out on top after a major turnaround. Miami had good shooting percentages in the first half, which could not be said for the home team, so the team from Florida had a 19-point lead in the first quarter, and at halftime it was 59:38.
But the second half saw a turnaround. Boston closed the gap to 67:61 in the third quarter after a 12:0 run, and took the lead for the first time when White hit both free throws - 73:72.
From that moment on, the Celtics mostly led, until Miami reached a plus three with two minutes and 36 seconds left - 96:93. Boston's good finish followed, Brown scored first, then White and the Celtics reached their 34th victory in the league.
Boston's most efficient player was Brown with 24 points and seven rebounds. Pritchard had 24 and White 21 points, while Miami's best player was Wiggins with 26 points.
Boston is second in the East with a record of 34-18, while Miami is in eighth place in the same conference (27-26).
